Frequently Asked Questions
What credentials do you have?
In addition to my 20 years of experience cooking in fine dining restaurants and owning a private chef business in 3 different states, I am double-certified in Holistic Nutrition with a focus on decreasing symptoms while increasing well-being through food. With this combination of expertise, I am able to tailor each menu to your family’s dietary needs and preferences and easily implement a multitude of cooking techniques to prepare varying worldly cuisines to your liking.
Do I need to be home when you cook?
No! Most of our clients are out of the home working or doing whatever they love while we are in their home cooking and cleaning. You are welcome to be home and visit the kitchen as frequently as you’d like.
What does an average menu look like?
2 breakfast dishes, 2 lunch dishes, 1 snack, and 3 dinner dishes with multiple servings per dish to cover 5 - 7 for your family size. You will receive a menu after service with reheating and storage instructions, and ingredients.
How long does it take to complete?
The average menu takes 6 hours for shopping, travel, cooking, and clean-up time. An average schedule is 8:30am - 2:30pm. Special requests or additional dishes will take more time. Menu creation and communication times are free for you.
What happens when we go out of town?
We expect you’ll be traveling with your family at some point! Please alert me of any travel as soon as possible. Because I offer weekly meal-prep services, I block out that day of the week for you for the foreseeable future and do not take any other cooking opportunities for those dates. For travel lasting 7 days (1 week) or less where 1 service will be missed, there is no charge. For travels more than 7 days (or where a second service week would be skipped) and you are expecting services to resume as usual when you return, there are 3 options: 1) a $350 maintenance per week starting week 2 until services resume; or 2) I can do a complete pantry, cupboard, and refrigerator clean-out and deep clean; and/or 3) You may gift cooking services to a family member or friend. They would pick up the food at your home on their own time. Most clients choose 2 and 3 to utilize my services.
Why do you need my credit card information?
No longer worry about remembering to settle invoices or sift through additional emails during your hectic week! Our process involves gathering your credit card details through a secure form, allowing us to make secure payments for your groceries at the store and services through Stripe. This streamlined approach eliminates the need for invoicing, ensuring that the current week's transactions are swiftly settled, and allowing you to plan the upcoming week without the burden of unpaid invoices. Your credit card statement will reflect separate entries for grocery and service charges. Additionally, you'll receive a paper receipt from the grocery store and an electronic receipt via email from Stripe for services rendered.
